WWE is almost halfway through the Road to WrestleMania and it is full steam ahead to the “grandest stage of them all.” Here is everything you can expect from WWE television this week.
Monday Night Raw (3.5.18)
This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw continues to focus on building angles for WrestleMania while providing a couple of already announced matches. The first confirmed match is yet another clash between Asuka and Nia Jax. After already defeating “The Irresistible Force” at the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View, the Empress of Tomorrow has to put her undefeated streak on the line just two weeks later.
The second confirmed match for tonight is a Symphony of Destruction Match, pitting Braun Strowman against Elias. WWE has not gone into detail as to exactly what this is, but there is a good chance that it will be a street fight with a lot of musical instruments.
There are also a few big angles for Raw to continue building. The Miz seems to have two potential Intercontinental Championship challengers in Finn Balor and Seth Rollins, who both beat the 8-time champion last week in back-to-back matches. Roman Reigns chewed out Brock Lesnar in a promo for not showing up, even though the Universal Champion was confirmed to be on the show. Lastly, it seems like things are heating up between The Authority and Kurt Angle/Ronda Rousey.
SmackDown Live (3.6.18)
This is SmackDown Live’s last chance to put on an interesting show before Fastlane. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are still butting heads, leading to a Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship this weekend. Outside of that, the only notable part of the show is the SmackDown Tag Team Championship scene, which could soon be overrun by the Bludgeon Brothers.
WWE Mixed Match Challenge (3.6.18)
WWE’s unique mixed tag team tournament continues on Facebook this week with the second match of the second round. The more laid back wrestling show this week sees married couple Jimmy Uso and Naomi taking on Braun Strowman and Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss.
205 Live (3.6.18)
Unlike SmackDown Live, 205 Live has turned things around and is pushing to provide thrilling in-ring content every week. New General Manager Drake Maverick has been doing this through the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament, with the finals taking place at WrestleMania. The winner, of course, will be crowned the new Cruiserweight Champion.
This week sees the second round of the tournament continue with two huge matches. Mustafa Ali will take on Buddy Murphy (who impressed in his debut a couple weeks ago), and high-flyer Mark Andrews will face “No Fly Zone” advocate Drew Gulak.
WWE NXT (3.7.18)
Speaking of tournaments, NXT is starting another installment of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic this week, pitting TM61 against the Authors of Pain to kick things off. Other notable matches for this week include Aleister Black facing Killian Dain and a Mae Young Classic finals rematch between Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane.
WWE Fastlane (3.11.18)
To close out the week, SmackDown Live hosts its last brand-exclusive Pay-Per-View for the foreseeable future. It is also the last big event before WrestleMania makes the trip back to New Orleans. Here is the match card for the show as of this writing:
