WWE has such much content every week that it could be a little overwhelming to keep track of everything that is going on. There are four separate brands with their own rosters and stories, and it seems like there is a Pay-Per-View every other week. This seems like one of the first times since WrestleMania that there have been more than two weeks since a Pay-Per-View. Regardless, WWE has a big week ahead of them (as always), so let’s take a look at what to expect.
Monday Night Raw (6/26)
There are a ton of huge stories going into this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The biggest story of them all is arguably the fallout of Big Cass turning on his three-year long partner, Enzo Amore. Perhaps the big boot from last week will lead to a match at Great Balls of Fire.
To continue building from last week, there is the return of Braun Strowman. Strowman was supposed to be injured for several more months, but the monster of a man returned way sooner than expected to attack Roman Reigns and challenge him to an Ambulance Match at Great Balls of Fire. Expect some build for this and maybe a squash match thrown in there.
The third big event on this week’s Raw is the return of Brock Lesnar. Lesnar defends his Universal Championship against Samoa Joe in just two weeks and the last time these two men were in the same ring, half of the locker room had to tear them apart. Odds are that could happen again this week.
This still leaves us with the other two hours of time Raw has to fill. The Raw Women’s and Tag Team Championships need #1 Contenders and The Miz and Dean Ambrose will continue to build to their Intercontinental Championship match. Also, Goldust has promised to finally return to Raw in person after several weeks of vignettes addressing R-Truth.
SmackDown Live (6/27)
With a huge Monday Night Raw lined up, SmackDown Live is not going to take a backseat. The “Land of Opportunity” announced four matches for this week, with big implications in almost every one of them.
The first, and biggest, match announced was the rematch for the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase. After the entire women’s division complained to Daniel Bryan about Carmella stealing the victory, Bryan decided to revoke her of the briefcase and redo the entire match.
The second huge match still revolves around the women’s division, and it is another rematch that is pretty difficult to justify. At Money in the Bank, Lana competed in her debut singles match by challenging Naomi for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Naomi won, but since Lana blamed it on Carmella distracting her, the fighting champion was willing to give the more inexperienced Superstar another shot at the championship.
The other two previously announced matches for SmackDown Live are nowhere near as huge, but they could have important outcomes. First, Sami Zayn has beaten Baron Corbin twice in singles competition over the past month, and he has a chance for the trifecta when they collide yet again. To round out the card, The Hype Bros take on the Usos. If The Hype Bros win, their next match against the Usos will be for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. On top of all of this, maybe we’ll get a new #1 Contender for the United States Championship too.
205 Live (6/27)
To the surprise of nobody, nothing is advertised for 205 Live. We might see more of the “loose affiliation” between Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries and what’s next for the Cruiserweight Championship.
NXT (6/28)
There is only one match advertised for NXT this week, but it’s a big one. The Triple Threat Women’s Championship match between Asuka, Nikki Cross, and Ruby Riot ended in a draw, so William Regal scheduled another title defense. Since Riot was eliminated before the draw, this match will just be between the other two women. This time, it will be a Last Woman Standing Match.
